There has been an ever-increasing desire to expand traditional roles beyond "at-need" and "pre-need" services into "after-need" or post funeral services for the bereaved. Abitibi Funeral Services is pleased to welcome Tania Boutin, Certified Grief Recovery and Life Transformation Coach to our staff.
Tania has experienced the loss of loved ones dear to her. Her grief journey began in
1994, when she received a call that her dad’s father had just passed away. Tania’s grandfather was a quiet man who loved her
grandmother dearly and cared for her in means of cooking, laundry, cleaning,
and bathing. She had not been well for years and only had one lung so she was
on a respirator most of the time. She was close with her grandma, who was
full of life, funny, loved to cuddle and was so kind. “My grandparents
had a bond that was like no other” She says. “On the day of my grandfather’s funeral we
went to visit my grandmother in the old age home. She was not feeling well herself
and had been in the home for a while. When she saw us she said “He is gone
isn’t he?” That’s when I knew what a connection they had” remembers Tania.
Six months later, in Spring of 1995 her
grandma passed away. Their funerals were
held together, celebrating both of their lives.
In 1997, her mom’s father grew ill after
having multiple strokes. He was
hospitalized for a while and during that time, he was really trying to get
better to be able to make it to her wedding at the end of September. Unfortunately,
he was unable to make it and passed away 2 weeks before Tania’s wedding and
just before his 50th wedding anniversary.
Coaching is like having a personal trainer
for your life. An empowered life requires focus, intent and commitment – just
like staying in shape. Coaching helps you think about what you really want, and
even encourage you to dream and then help you gain the confidence to make those
dreams a reality.
